Maria Panezi obtained an LL.M degree as a W. C. Langley Scholar of International Legal Studies at New York University, School of Law (2006), where she focused particularly on General Principles of International Economic Law. She received her first law degree from Athens University, Greece (2005), where she also worked as a research assistant for professors teaching Public and International Law. So far she has published a note on a Greek Special Supreme Court case on sovereign immunity in the Revue Hellénique de Droit International (a peer-review Greek law journal), an online article on the Greek legal system in Globalex and note on EU Asylum Procedures Directive in the Columbia Journal of European Law. She has also received an award from the Greek Chamber of Commerce for a paper on Greek exports and an honorary scholarship from Athens University.
