Karavas, Dr. Vaios

Dr. Vaios Karavas is currently Lecturer at the law school of the University of Fribourg Switzerland. He studied law and theatre studies in Athens and Frankfurt; he obtained a J.D/LL.B. from the University of Athens Law School in 1997, an LL.M. from the University of Frankfurt Law School in 1999, and a Ph.D in Law from the University of Frankfurt Law School in 2006.
After obtaining his LL.M he researched and taught in Frankfurt in the fields of private law, private law theory, and Internet law. His current research and teaching focuses on private law, private law theory, law and technosciences, and legal sociology.
He is a member of the editorial board of Ancilla Iuris - Constellations of Law (
http://www.anci.ch/). He has obtained scholarships and awards from the FAZ-Foundation, the Volkswagen-Foundation, the Clifford Chance Law Firm, and the Land of Hessen, Germany. His publications include:
